DEPARTING MISSIONARIES TEMPLE TRIP

Every Wednesday before transfers, President and Sister Van Cott attend the Redlands temple with the missionaries who will be returning home. This transfer we have 15 missionaries who will be returning home on August 19. 9 of the 15 missionaries are Spanish speaking.

ENGLISH DEPARTING DEVOTIONAL AUGUST 10, 2014

Because we have such a large group of missionaries returning home this transfer, we needed to have two departing devotionals, one for English speaking and one for Spanish speaking missionaries. SENIOR MISSIONAIRES

President and Sister Van Cott hosted a barbecue dinner for the senior missionaries serving in the California Redlands Mission. Those who were able to attend enjoyed a fun evening.

BUSY WEEK FINISHING ZONE CONFERENCES!!!

President and Sister Van Cott finished zone conferences this past week. It was a busy week holding zone conferences in Fontana, Palm Desert, Redlands, Rialto, San Bernardino, Yucca Valley and Yucaipa.

ZONE CONFERENCES HELD

Zone conferences are being held last week and this week. They were by stakes this time. Also included are guests who were invited to share their testimonies of their recent conversions and baptisms.

Meet The Dixon Family

President Sean Romney Dixon is originally from Provo, Utah. He played basketball and tennis before serving a mission to Toronto Canada, Spanish speaking. After returning from his mission he met and married M'Shelle. They met standing in a line in the Traffic Office at BYU. He has a bachelors degree in Family Science and a masters degree in Education. President Dixon has worked for LDS Seminaries and Institutes as a seminary teacher and institute instructor. Most recently he worked as the Area Director for the Utah Valley South Area. M'Shelle Lundquist Dixon is from Bountiful Utah. She loves to dance. She also rides a unicycle. She graduated from BYU in Communications. She and President Dixon both work as directors for BYU summer camps; Especially For Youth and a new camp "Habits for Life" which teaches Covey's "Seven Habits for Highly Effective Teens." The Dixons have five children and have raised their family in Spanish Fork, Utah. Lisie, their only daughter returned from her mission a little over a year ago to Nashville, Tennessee. Jared returned from serving in Mexico, Puebla two months ago. Both are in school at BYU Provo. Rob leaves August 2016 to serve his mission in Barcelona Spain. Their two youngest Brad and Scott will be living with them as they serve in California, Redlands. "We are excited to be here and love the missionaries. We pray for them every day to bring others to a knowledge of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. We know that this is His work and that He leads it. Our only desire is to serve others and to be instruments to help bring people to a knowledge and understanding of the Lord's great plan of happiness."
